ABOUT THE PROJECT
A simple activity transforms into something remarkable
Each week, a group gathers at an allotment in Gloucester to garden. This shared green space offers more than fresh produce. It offers a sense of belonging to those facing many of life's challenges
Growing Together explores connections to and through Blackbridge New Dawn View Allotment Association, a site which has undergone urban development.
Stefania Distante worked with the social prescribing gardening group, which links people to non-medical activities to improve health and wellbeing. It is a testament to the human need for a common purpose, nature, and companionship.
Among the raised beds, including one designed for wheelchair users, people find a supportive community and meaning.
Nature becomes a unifying force. What grows here are not just vegetables, but relationships, stories, and resilience.
